Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program - funding request important dates

Fisheries and Oceans Canada wishes to inform the fishing industry of important dates to apply for funding under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program (FACTAP) for 2019-2020 fiscal year.

The program can assist the industry with the adoption or adaptation of market-ready clean technologies for aquaculture, wild capture harvesting and seafood processing operations. The funding wish to assist the fisheries and aquaculture industries in improving environmental performance of a given facility, boat, fishing gear and equipment components. The program can provide funding up to 75% of eligible project costs and all project proposals submitted must also include a cash financial commitment by the applicant and at least 10% confirmed provincial or territorial government funding (cash or in-kind).

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the budget is exhausted. The funds available for the 2019-2020 fiscal year nationally are $5.9 million. Please note that a project proposal review session will be taking place in the coming weeks as part of the initial application intake for 2019/20, please refer to the following dates should you wish to submit a proposal for the initial intake: 

Please note that limited amounts of funding are available to support specific types of clean technologies and/or processes. Once funds have been allocated to a particular type of project, the likelihood of funding for similar projects will diminish. Lower priority will be given to projects submitted by a proponents who has already received FACTAP funding. A list of approved projects can be found using the following link:
